Dates/ Times – Thursdays 15th Jan – 26th March and Sundays 12th April to June 28th.
Theory 19.30-21.00 and Practical 09.00 – 12.00.
Age – Over 18 only
The theory part of the course will last for 11 weeks starting on Thursday 15th January 2026 (7pm for a prompt start at 7.30pm-9pm) and will continue on every Thursday evening until 26th March. There will also be a class on the following Thursday evening, 26th March, which will be ‘Preparing for the Practical Course’ and suit fitting. This will all take place at the EBKA teaching apiary and classroom in Ewell.
During the Theory Course you will learn about the biology of the honeybee, how the colony functions and how to manage various aspects of their care such as swarm control and diagnosing and treating pests and diseases. We will also provide you with up-to-date set up costs and where to source/site your colony of bees.
The practical part of the course will follow on to start on Sunday 12th April 2026 (9am for a prompt start at 9.30am until around 12 noon) and continue on every Sunday until 28th June. Two Sundays will not happen – we will advise you of these in due course.
