MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
The constitution and membership of the BBKA embrace three classes of member, namely Registered, Partner and Country (the constitution may be viewed at www.bbka.org.uk/about/how_we_run/constitution)
Registered Membership is the ‘full’ membership. You will enjoy full benefits such as third party and product liability insurance, BBKA News and Bee Craft through the post & digital version, examination system, leaflets and advice system. etc (see clause 7.2). Membership also includes BDI (Bee Disease Insurance) for 3 colonies. Additional colonies may be insured if you have or anticipate having more than 3 colonies in the coming season.
Registered Membership, digital Bee Craft only is the same as the ‘full’ membership (above) except that you will receive only the digital version of Bee Craft via email and not the paper version through the post.
Partner Membership offers reduced benefits and is directed at those households where there is more than one practicing beekeeper (over 18). They will enjoy all benefits including BDI insurance but will not get their own copy of BBKA News (see clause 7.3) or Bee Craft.
Country Membership is aimed at those not actively involved in keeping bees but wishing to be kept involved. No insurance is offered but a copy of BBKA News will be received (see clause 7.4)
Junior Membership is a local scheme for Epsom Division and involves registration with the BBKA although with no record or insurance at the national level. (See BBKA News August 2007, Page 16 for Young Beekeepers and Insurance).
Friends of Epsom is also a local scheme for Epsom Division to encompass people who are not beekeepers but have an association with the Division. We keep in touch through the Divisional Newsletter. Our preferred method of sending newsletters out is via email. If you wish to continue to receive a paper copy through the post, please include additional subscriptions to cover the cost of postage.
