The Upper Mill honey is a product produced by our very own bees in our onsite apiary from bee to jar.

Our onsite apiary is used as a practical learning tool allowing our annual classes to have a hands on experience in handling, observing and understanding the hobby of beekeeping and the phenomena of bee behaviour under the watchful eye of our in-house master beekeepers & tutors. The students have undertaken several weeks of classroom studying which, once completed, move onto the practical side within our apiary.

Students then attend harvesting days once the honey is ready. Here, they learn how to extract the honey from the hive frames, using various methods and then if they so wish can attend days where the honey is jarred ready for sale through our shop at the apiary.

So, in essence, the honey is the product of our annual students, and the bees of course! 🐝

The sale of our UPPER MILL HONEY goes towards supporting the EBKA charity and helps keep the doors & our apiary open to the local community to enjoy.

If you would like to learn more about becoming a beekeeper or just have an interest in bees and their habitat, why not join one of our annual beekeeping classes or even one of our one day beekeeping experiences. Places are limited and are generally oversubscribed with a waiting list.

But the wait is well worth the wow factor! 🐝
